Conception Techniques
The Old Pine Workshop’s furniture is designed with pine wood. Wood substitute such as mdf or melamine will never be used, not even for the parts that are not visible such as the bottom of drawers and on the back of furniture. The cornices are solid, they will never be designed uniquely with applied. The Dutch doors are also designed with a minimum of one-inch thick wood and not with ¾ - inch thick wood as is the case for doors that warp with time.
The reproductions are produced in accordance with the traditional cabinetmaking rules of the art. To do so, the craftsmen practice the tenon and mortise joint. To obtain an authentic solidity of the jointing, ¾- inch to 8/4- inch thick wood is used, depending on the type of conception is to be carried out. To insure a masterful finish and assembling, the craftsmen practice a progressive sanding and a pre-assembling of the parts without glue to make sure that the parts fit correctly for each piece produced.
